Just because I can't eat gluten or dairy products doesn't mean I don't have the odd hankering for a nice sticky cinnamon bun with pecans!! I do!! Especially with this cold foggy weather we've been having over the past few days. So, I decided to work out how to make what I was yearning for and I was quite pleased with the results!😊 I took inspiration from Claire Ptak's book, The Violet Bakery Cookbook, which is full of delicious recipes.

I've been having a lovely time lately, discussing wedding ideas for next summer! All I can say is that it is going to be a very busy season! We have all sorts of styles from afternoon tea parties to barn dances, and lots of lovely country weddings!

These photos were taken at a lovely wedding we did near Marlborough. The couple wanted a relaxed country wedding with an Italian theme to the food.  We put all the food in dishes on the tables for the guests...

Having your own veggies doesn't get much better than bringing a beautiful fresh bunch of beets up to the kitchen to be transformed into a vibrant healthy and delicious salad.

Simply take the tops off the beets, leaving about 2cm of stalk to stop them bleeding, just cover with water and a good pinch of sea salt. Bring up to the boil and cook for about 4 minutes if they are nice young ones like these, or a bit longer if they are big and old!

When cooked, drai...

I was trimming some of our very overgrown hedges the other afternoon (one of the few recently where it hasn't been pouring with rain!) One of the largeish branches that needed lopping was a piece of elder, with quite a few decent heads of elderflower - so I cut them off and went off into the garden to find a few more. Under our large apple tree I have a black elder 'sambuccus nigra', which has pink flowers - I picked about 6 of the heads - and put them in w...

We barbequed a delicious butterflied leg of lamb a little while back. There was a reasonable chunk left over, which I put in the fridge - but reusing cooked me
