We are always coming up with new sandwich ideas. This has pear, Gorgonzola and pecan sandwich has been a bit of an autumn favourite with several of our regular business clients.
Take a good ciabatta roll, slice in half along its length and drizzle a good extra virgin olive or rapeseed oil over both halves.
Spread a generous amount of Gorgonzola, or other blue cheese of your choice, over the bottom half, topping with slices of conference pear, a little black pepper, then a few pecans and a drizzle of dressing. (We made a good dressing with a tablespoon of Basra Date Syrup, two tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and a splash of red wine vinegar). Finally put a generous amount of fresh British watercress and finish with the top piece of bread. Press down gently to mingle the flavours, and help make sure it all holds together. Sit down with your feet up and enjoy!
